Abstract:

The first system from MULTIVAC enabling the high-pressure preservation of food. The technology, high pressure processing (HPP), uses pressure of up to 6,000 bar to preserve food instead of using heat or preservatives. What‘s unique in this: With the MULTIVAC solution, HPP systems are available for the first time which can be integrated in automated packaging lines and which are also compatible with packages containing inert gas. This makes the process interesting to many users in terms of extended shelf-life.
